FLORENCE, Ala. - The University of North Alabama Bands, directed by Dr. Lloyd Jones and Dr. Iain Moyer, will present the annual President's Concert Friday, April 25, at 7:30 p.m. in Norton Auditorium.
The performance will be a musical dedication to President William G. Cale and his wife, BJ, in recognition of their service to the University.
"The students have diligently rehearsed and crafted a wonderfully entertaining concert in honor of Dr. and Mrs. Cale," said Director of Bands Dr. Lloyd Jones. "The Cales have done so much to further the mission of the University, which includes supporting the arts."
The concert will feature all UNA bands and ensembles: UNA Wind Ensemble, UNA Symphonic Band, UNA Studio Jazz Band, and UNA Percussion Ensemble. The program will include classic marches and overtures, Big Band favorites and the traditional "Salute to the Armed Forces."
Tickets for general admission are $15 and $5 for students. Admission is free for military personnel and children aged 10 and under. Tickets may be purchased at zo23.com/music-theatre (service fee will apply), at Kennedy-Douglass Center for the Arts or at the door.
